The Japan Meteorological Agency (JMA) has provided three-dimensional meteorological reanalysis data JRA-55 with a horizontal spatial resolution of 1.25 degree since 1958.In this study, we conducted numerical simulations by WRF using JRA-55 as initial and boundary value and analyzed the reproducibility of the detailed rainfall distribution. Among the heavy rainfall cases that occurred in the past in Japan, We selected two cases of heavy rainfall event caused by typhoon and front respectively as target cases. We compared the simulation results with the observed values by ground rain gauges and evaluated the reproduction accuracy. In addition, we considered the reproduction characteristics by WRF for each rainfall cause.Details will be presented at the workshop.
