Rule A
Note: This chart shows the chance of a natural lightning strike intercepting the shuttle during launch due to a nearby lightning producing storm. The three lines indicated are for low (1 flash/min), medium (6 flashes/min), and high (60 flashes/min) flash rate storms. The strikes/launch at 10 nm for the low, medium and high flash rates storms are approximately 5 x 10-8, 3 x 10-7, and 3 x 10-6 respectively.
