2010 EULAG Model Users' Workshop
13-16 September, 2010. Poland

Topical issue of Acta Geophysica:
"Modeling Atmospheric Circulations with Sound-Proof equations"

Dear All,

Thank you for making the Second EULAG workshop such a success. As advertised
during the workshop, all contributed papers will be considered for
publication in the topical issue of Springer's Acta Geophysica entitled:
Modeling Atmospheric Circulations with Sound-Proof equations.
All selected papers will be reviewed, and all accepted papers will be indexed
by Thomson Reuters ISI (2009 impact factor of Acta Geophysica is 0.882).

It is hoped that the accepted papers will appear on line the first quarter of
next year and the whole publication process will end before half of the year.
To ensure a prompt publication, the deadline for submission is 31st December.
The contributions should not exceed 8 journal template pages for a short
communication and 40 journal template pages for a full research or review paper.

An example full paper from Acta Geophysica is avalable as pdf file:
example-paper-Acta-Geophysica.pdf for your convenience.

IMPORTANT: To help with smooth planning of the topical issue we ask
you to write by e-mail to: Szymon Malinowski malina@fuw.edu.pl
by the 15th of October indicating whether you plan to contribute either:
a full paper, a short communication, or you are unable to contribute.

The online submission system for Acta Geophysica has now been set
up to handle the Topical Issue. Authors should submit their papers at
http://ag.editool.com/ and choose the category "Topical Issue EULAG2010".

Submission:

Manuscript should be prepared in Microsoft Word (doc) format or LaTeX.
For initial submission it can be saved as Portable Document Format (pdf) file.

You are asked to submit two files:
- first file containing a title page with abstract.
- second file containing an entire manuscript with all tables and figures embedded.

Additional files may be submitted, if required, with figures, each saved as
a separate graphic file and combined into one zip archive to ease multiple upload.

Templates:

Microsoft Word template is available at http://agp.igf.edu.pl/.

LaTeX templates and examples are now available

Microsoft Word 2007:
Please note that files created in Microsoft Word 2007 should be saved
in doc format. New Word docx files cause problems for reviewers and
they are not compatible with existing production process.

Required organization of the paper:

1. Title.

2. Name, affiliation, exact postal and e-mail addresses of the authors,
and the indication who is the corresponding author.

3. Abstract (up to 150 words).

4. Key-words (up to 5).

5. Text, divided into numbered sections.

6. List of references, arranged in alphabetical order, according to the
given pattern:

 - in the case of an article in a journal:
Teisseyre, R., and M. Górski (2007), Physics of basic motions in asymmetric
continuum, Acta Geophys.55, 119-132, DOI: 102478/s11600-006-0008-4.

 - in the case of a book:
Lilensten, J., and J. Bornarel (2006),Space Weather, Environment and
Societies, Springer Verlag, Dordrecht, DOI: 10.1007/1-4020-4332-5.

 - in the case of a chapter in a book:
Moriya, T., and R. Teisseyre (2006), Design of rotational seismometer
and non-linear behaviour of rotation components of earthquakes.
In: R. Teisseyre, M. Takeo, and E. Majewski (eds.), Earthquake Source
Asymmetry, Structural Media and Rotation Effect, Springer, Berlin, 439-450.

 - in the case of an article in proceedings:
Nikolaevskiy, V.N. (1998), Tectonic stress migration as nonlinear wave
process along earth crust faults. In:T. Adachi, F. Oka, and A. Yashima (eds.),
Proc. 4th Inter. Workshop on Localization and Bifurcation Theory for Soils and
Rocks, Gifu, Japan, 28 Sept. - 2 Oct. 1997, A.A. Balkema, Rotterdam, 137-142.

If the article/book has DOI number, the author should include it in the
references. The properly prepared, complete and correct references allow
automatic creation of active links

References

References in the text should consist of the name followed by the year
of publication in parentheses. (If more than 2 authors, please give the
first author's name followed by et al. and year). All references cited
in the text must be included in the reference list, and vice versa.

Figures

Figures must be submitted in electronic file, preferably saved as eps,
jpg, cdr, tif, gif. We cannot accept figures created in Microsoft Word,
WordPerfect, Excel. The resolution for graphic files must be: 250-300 dpi
for color and gray scale images, 600-900 dpi for black and white only.
Line weights and lettering should be suitable for reduction. Please
consult the pdf example paper as to the size of the figures.
Color illustrations can be freely used in electronic version. As to the
printed version, the author will be charged with additional costs of
color printing (please fill in the Color Work Agreement Form at the
address: http://ag.editool.com/).

Tables

Avoid tables built with tab key or as pictures. Tables should be numbered
consecutively with Arabic numerals and referred in the text. The header
should be placed on top of the table. Please make sure that the size
of the tables is adequate to the layout of the journal's page (12x19 cm).

Final version of the paper

Once the review/revision process is finished, the corresponding author may
be asked to prepare the final version of the paper, according to the template
available at: http://agp.igf.edu.pl/. We will then inspect it and make
some editorial adjustments (if necessary). The pdf file will be sent back
for proof-reading. The ready paper will be placed on Springer Online First
web page and then included into the topical issue of Acta Geophysica.

Thank you for your cooperation,

Szymon Malinowski, Acta Geophysica associate editor,
Andrzej Wyszogrodzki, topical issue guest editor,
Michal Ziemianski, topical issue guest editor.
