The primary objectives for the Workshop are to provide updates for the MPAS and WRF modeling systems, to discuss model development and issues, and to present evaluations and applications of the two models. The 2025 Workshop will be held 3-6 June. `Registration is now open! `_ | .. rst-class:: horizbuttons-next-m * `Access presentations from previous Workshops `_ | | | MPAS-A Tutorial =============== he Mesoscale and Microscale Meteorology (MMM) Laboratory of the NSF National Center for Atmospheric Research (NSF NCAR) typically hosts a tutorial on the Model for Prediction Across Scales - Atmosphere twice-yearly during the spring and fall. The tutorial covers the basics of how to set-up, run, and post-process MPAS-A simulations. These tutorials are often combined with course work for MPAS-JEDI, as well. The primary audience for these tutorials is new or beginning users of MPAS-Atmosphere. Basic knowledge of atmospheric science and numerical modeling, as well as experience working within a Unix computing environment, is required for the tutorial. | .. rst-class:: horizbuttons-next-m * `Access the MPAS-A tutorial practice guide `_. | .. rst-class:: horizbuttons-next-m * `Access the MPAS-JEDI tutorial practice guide `_ | | | Future MPAS Tutorials --------------------- * The MPAS team, in collaboration with National Centre for Atmospheric Science UK, will offer an in-person tutorial in St. Andrews, Scotland on 23-27 June 2025. Tutorials for both MPAS-Atmosphere and MPAS-JEDI are planned for this event. Please visit this page for more information: https://ncas.ac.uk/study-with-us/mpas-tutorials/ . * An in-person MPAS/MPAS-JEDI tutorial is scheduled for 15-19 September, 2025, to take place in Boulder, CO. Registration will open in July. | | | | | |
