The AMPS Archive
The AMPS Archive contains forecast model output and related files from the Antarctic Mesoscale Prediction System.
The AMPS Archive is hosted by NSF NCAR Research Data Archive (RDA), managed by the Data Engineering and Curation Services group of the Computational and Information Systems Laboratory (CISL) at the NSF National Center for Atmospheric Research.
- Access the main AMPS Archive page at rda.ucar.edu/datasets/d473002.
- A shorter-term (6-month) archive of full WRF model output is is located at rda.ucar.edu/datasets/d473003.
GRIB subsets of the AMPS forecast output are available beginning January 2001.
Full WRF model output files in NetCDF format are available only for the most recent months. Because of the data volume, these files are scrubbed from the archive after several months.
The model fields that are in the GRIB files are listed under AMPS_GRIB_fields. The GRIB parameter numbers, field units, and field abbreviations are also shown in this document.
GRIB files organized by "AMPS Era"
Most recent data are in the "WRF24" Era.
