1.1 The
Weather Research and Forecasting Model:
2013 annual update
Dudhia, Jimy, National Center for Atmospheric Research
The
talk will cover new features in the WRF model Version 3.5 release of April
2013, especially physics, since the last workshop in 2012. This year's new
options include the CLM4 land-surface model, WRF-Hydro
coupled hydrology model, CAM 5.1 microphysics, Grenier-Bretherton-McCaa
PBL scheme, UW surface wind correction option, Grell-Freitas
cumulus parameterization, GRIMS shallow convection, and the Price et al. 3d
multi-level ocean model. New capabilities include ozone and aerosol climatology
for RRTMG radiation, greenhouse gas variations for climate runs, NUDAPT US
urban-scale data for urban models, sea-ice property control. New diagnostics
include in-line trajectories, NSSL storm diagnostic output, lightning
diagnostic output, and time series of profiles. Many other minor changes were
also made.
