P45 Assessing performance of WRF model in simulation a dry season rain extreme case over Senegal

Off season rains are less known features in the climate and weather systems occurring over West Sahel. Major focus is on phenomena during the monsoon phase. Over West Sahel around the interface between the ocean and land areas covering Senegal, Mauritania and Cape Verde other type of rainfall can be recorded during the dry season and are mostly related to an interaction between temperate and tropical regions. In this study the ability of WRF model in simulating an extreme case is assessed using a nesting strategy.
