2.1 Recent
enhancements and applications of the WRF-Hydro Modeling system
Gochis, David,
National Center for Atmospheric Research
The WRF-Hydro modeling
system is designed to provide a set of hydrologic process enhancements
that are couple-able to the WRF atmospheric modeling system. These
enhancements include multi-scale grid refinement capabilities,
spatially-explicit hillslope routing and inundation
representations, shallow groundwater representations as well as a
selection of stream channel and reservoir process formulations. The
WRF-Hydro modeling components may be run fully
coupled to the WRF model permitting two-way flux exchange interactions
or in an offline, uncoupled mode where meteorological forcing data are
prescribed to the WRF-Hydro system. This talk will provide a very
brief update on the status of the WRF-Hydro system and show example
results from a selected set of recent applications.
