WPS Version 2.2.1
WPS tar file has been updated to Version 2.2.1
on October 31, 2007. This tar file includes bug fixes for the
V2.2 code and some new features.
Bug fixes:
* Improved dominant category computation for
categorical data sets with grid sizes much smaller than model
grid size
* Bit-identical smoothing of static fields on different numbers
of processors
* In geogrid, fix bug when scaling higher priority level data
by scale_factor
* Faster GRIB 2 decoding
* Fixed large memory leak when decoding GRIB 2
* Faster g2print.exe
* New Vtables, corrected Vtables
* Corrected handling of NCEP grid 229 and NCEP2 data
* Many fixes to computed fields in ungrib (e.g., RH from DEWPT)
* Improved handling of RUC snow cover fields in ungrib
* Proper handling of GFS RH in ungrib. As it turned out, GFS RH
is with respect to ice at cold temperatures. This is now taken
into account.
* Made missing RH at high altitudes (<= 70
mb) a function of p.
* WEASD is now called SNOW in WPS (except for NMM).
* CANOPYM is now CANWAT
* WPS correctly distinguishes mixing ratio and specific humidity
* Corrected interpolation of Gaussian data sets around edges of
data set
* In metgrid, fix bug in constant fields marked as "mandatory=yes"
in METGRID.TBL
Something new:
* Added support for g95 compiler on Linux and
Intel Macintosh systems
* Added support Cray X1E
* Added support for static data in either little-
or big-endian byte order
* Added support for static data projected using Albers equal area
(NAD 83 datum)
