Testing/Benchmarking : World Series Rainout Case
The MM5 SESAME benchmark, available on the NCAR anonymous ftp
site (source
and data),
was run on an early version of the ev6 chip. This was made possible
through the involvement of iMSC. This small benchmark provided approximately
1.8X speed-up from the 600 MHz ev56 to the 500 MHz ev6. Other benchmarks
are given below.
The data is for the MM5 World Series case, 200x250x27. The following
options in MM5 were chosen: IVTADV=1, IVQADV=1, ICUPA=3, IMPHYS=4,
IBLTYP=5, ISOIL=1, IFRAD=2, 60 s time step, 12 h forecast, MAXNES=1.
