8/4/00:

  • Add MPP directives for field SNOWC initialization if LSM option is selected. Even though SNOWC field is not directly used by LSM, but its presence affects definitions of other land properties if IFSNOW is set to 1. Affect MPP/LSM runs - giving bad results. If you obtain the new tar file, please also get the new MPP.TAR.gz.

  • Correct a problem when IFSKIP and grid FDDA are used together.

  • Correct a slight error in surface pressure and theta calculation in LSM scheme. Could lead to ground temperatures a few tenths of a degree warmer.

5/12/00:

  • Make time step in computing soil temperature more conservative in ISOIL=1 option. Also see comments posted here.

5/11/00:

  • Correct two array dimension errors in shallow convective scheme (ISHALLO=1) (thanks to Ruby Leung of PNL). Two arrays in the scheme were dimensioned inconsistently with the input arrays since V3.0. This would probably have led to the scheme being fairly inactive. The correction should increase the effect of this scheme. We are still aware of some problems this scheme has, and it should be used with caution because more changes could be made in the future.

  • Initialize variable MITER0 used in Blackadar scheme (thanks to Xinzhong Liang of University of Illinois).

3/15/00:

  • Correct a bug in Burk-Thompson scheme. The bug was introduced in the 3-3 release due to change of definition of longwave radiation when CCM2 radiation scheme was used. (See Changes listed below.) (Thanks to Xin-Zhong Liang of University of Illinois.)

3/10/00:

  • Correct a typo. It affects graupel schemes and nest runs. On some machine this may cause the model to abort.
