Starting with Version 4.0, the WRF tar file contains source code for ARW, NMM, Chemistry, WRFDA, and WRFPLUS.

If you are using GFS Analysis beginning January 7, 2015 (1200 UTC) or later, and are using WPS Version 3.6.1 or earlier, you will need to download this Vtable
For WPS test data, please click here.
To use the Thompson microphysics scheme with aerosol climatology (mp_physics = 28), download the following files to use in the WPS metgrid processing:
QNWFA_QNIFA_SIGMA_MONTHLY data: Beginning in V3.9, this file is sufficient for mp_physics - 28. These data are in intermediate format, and are input to metgrid. You can read details about this process here.

**Important: When downloading WRF-Chemistry code, first download the WRFV3 tar file, untar it, and then untar the WRF-Chem code inside the WRFV3 directory. This will create a sub-directory called '/chem.'

We recommend downloading version 5.1.0 or greater. All functions needed to view WRF data with NCL are located inside the NCL libraries. Details on using functions, in addition to several example scripts can be found

RIP
|
Version 4.7 (January 2018)
V4.7 contains capabilities for plotting MPAS output. MPAS plotting requires putting MPAS output on a WRF grid using the "mpas2wrf" utility, which is contained in the mpas2wrf.tar file.

This version no longer requires WRFV3 to compile. There is also no longer an option for vis5D output (removed due to no update to vis5D since 1999, and newer 3D software for displaying WRF data is now available). This version includes a bug fix to correctly handle P_TOP.
