WPS Version 3.3
Version 3.3 of the WRF Pre-Processing System (WPS) was released on April 6, 2011. For V3.2 update of WPS, please click here.
Note: The V3 WRF model is NOT backward compatible with old input files. One must rerun WPS to generate data for real/wrf.

Problems' in this release.
New features
* New capability to initialize the SST field for inland water bodies using a separate manufactured SST field (e.g. diurnally averaged skin temp) - see details in Chapter 3 of the User's Guide.
* New ability to mask fields based on inequality relations in metgrid (with contributions from Daniel van Dijke (Meteo Consult BV))
* New option to skip interpolation to interior grid points in metgrid for faster processing times (new namelist process_only_bdy in &metgrid)
* Add input data support for the following datasets:
- CFSR (NCEP Climate Forecasting System Reanalysis)
- ERA Interim Analysis by ECMWF
-
NCEP GEFS (ensemble forecast data)
* Add gfortran options for Linux/x86_64 (thanks to Thomas Schwitalla)
Bug Fixes and Improvements:
* Fix in processing NCEP 1/12 degree data files (0.083 degree SST data)
* Fix uninitialized variables in geogrid that led to incorrect runtime behavior under certain compilers (thanks to Timothy Brown (NOAA) and Brian Reen (PSU) for independently spotting this)
* Fix to binary I/O to correctly handle subgrid refinement (used by WRF-Fire) (thanks to Timothy Brown (NOAA).
* Update w3lib and g2lib to NCEP's latest versions (2.0 and 1.2.2, respectively).
* Fix SNOW and SNOWH units in ungrib for various data sets
