Nested Model Run: 2-way, with 1 Input File

No input needed for nested domains.

All static and meteorological data are interpolated from the coarse grid to the nested grids.

Advantage: Nested domains may start at different times.

Disadvantage: Nested domains do not benefit from high resolution static fields.

 

Program flow:
NOTE: Up to (A) the program flow for a single domain run, and a nested domain run with one input file is identical.

 

For this case study we are going to add a nest to the Single Domain Hurricane Matthew Case. As we have already created the met_em.d01.* files for this case, we can skip the WPS step and proceed to running WRF.
