WPS Version 3.7.1
Version 3.7.1 of the WRF Pre-Processing System (WPS) was released on 14 August 2015.
Note: The V3 WRF model is NOT backward compatible with old V2 input files. One must rerun WPS to generate data for real/wrf.

Improvement and Bug Fixes
- ungrib:
- For GFS data, add the extra pressure names to the Vtable list so they get dumped into the intermediate file. PTROP_NN and PMAXW_NN are identical to PTROP and PMAXW, respectively. Inside metgrid, those fields have different default horizontal interpolation options. The combination of pressures is used in the ARW real program to remove boxy-looking structures in the wind and temperature fields near the level of max wind (and also at the tropopause).
- Changes to ungrib and the METGRID.TBL file to clean up the boxy-looking squares that the ARW real program produces when getting the GFS data that includes the level of max wind speed and the tropopause level. These data were able to be used in the real program starting with version 3.7.
- Update the NCEP process numbers in ungrib and g2print.
- Use a fast start-up for the link_grib.csh script to avoid sourcing a user's cshrc file
- Fix a typo in the comments regarding 0.5 degree file size for GFS GRIB data
- metgrid:
- Changes to the METGRID.TBL file to clean up the boxy-looking squares that the ARW real program produces when getting the GFS data that includes the level of max wind speed and the tropopause level.
