I have ON29 format data. How do I convert it to LITTLE_R format
data?
Download the latest version of FETCH
(after Jan 21, 2004). Inside this tar file, there is a new script
"adp_to_little-r.csh" that you can use to convert
ON29 format to LITTLE_R input format.

I don't have an NCAR account, can I get ON29 data somewhere?
The last year's data is available from the dss web page:
Surface and Ship data (ds464.0)
Upper Air data (ds353.4)

How does LITTLE_R differ from RAWINS and which should I use?

RAWINS and LITTLE_R have the same function. RAWINS is older
F77 code, while LITTLE_R is newer F90 code.

LITTLE_R is more user friendly than RAWINS

LITTLE_R read observations in ASCII format, while RAWINS
can only read Office Note 29 (ON29) format data.

If you don't have a specific reason for running RAWINS,
it is best to move to the LITTLE_R package
