Update on MM5 Version 2 Release 2-12 (November
12 1999)
Dear MM5 (V2) users,
This email is regarding the update to the MM5 Version 2 release-2-12.
Since the development effort has been shifted to Version 3, it is
decided that MM5 V2 release-2-12 (April 1999) will be the last release
in MM5 model version 2 series. However we are providing the latest
update to this release. This update only contains a few bug fixes,
and a few fixes that can prevent potential blowups if certain physics
options are used and under certain conditions. The detailed modification
is documented in the CHANGES file as before, and the actual difference
file is provided in
ReleaseNotes/diff.12nov99 file.
They can also be found on the Web:
http://www2.mmm.ucar.edu/mm5/mm5v2/mm5v2-changes-r2-12-2.html
Starting from today, the default tar files (both MM5 and MPP) will
reflect these changes.
Note, this update does not contain any new physics options
(e.g. the Gayno-Seaman PBL scheme). If a user is interested in using
the new physics, we suggest that you begin to explore MM5 Version
3.
