MM5 Modeling System Version 3

Dear MM5 V3 users,

This email announces the release 3-3 of Version 3 preprocessing programs: TERRAIN, RAWINS, LITTLE_R, INTERPF, NESTDOWN, and GRAPH.
Program REGRID will be released at a later date.

All source code tar files are updated on anonymous ftp site, NCAR's MSS, and Cray-accessible disk since Jan 26, 2000.

The highlight of changes in each program is described in the CHANGES file in each of the program tar file. They are also poste on the Web:

If you are using LSM option in MM5 and starting a nest at initial time, you can now use NESTDOWN to generate nest mminput file from mminput file on coarse domain. NESTDOWN will make sure that the masked fields are interpolated properly for the nest. Starting a nest after 0 hour in MM5 with LSM option is not recommended.
