Static Geographic Datasets¶

Static geographical data are needed to create initial conditions for running a real-data simulation.

Default Terrestrial Datasets¶

Note

These datasets should be unpacked into the same mpas_static directory as the default datasets.

Download large-scale & small-scale sub-grid orography statistics, used by the NOAA UGWP suite (config_gwdo_scheme = ‘bl_ugwp_gwdo’) and processed by the init_atmosphere core when config_native_gwd_gsl_static = true
Download gravity-wave momentum flux data, used by the NOAA UGWP suite when config_gwdo_scheme = ‘bl_ugwp_gwdo’ and config_ngw_scheme = true
Download 15-arc-second MODIS land use category data, processed by the init_atmosphere core when config_landuse_data = ‘MODIFIED_IGBP_MODIS_NOAH_15s’
Download 30-arc-second BNU soil category data, processed by the init_atmosphere core when config_soilcat_data = ‘BNU’
